Default was good fun.....NOT!!!!!!! OPTIONS PLEASE

well just been on the 1/4 mile at santa pod,it was fun,NOT....
had five runs all about the same time 13's then a 13.1..
then thought one "last run" and was against a supra(non turbo),launched off and supra was with me ,i thought weired, then heard noise from under the bonnet my big ends had gone, thought car was holding back,as crossed the line well over the 14's.........
so got car trailed back from there,.......and here is my question????
to sell or to re-build as wanted to sell anyway, just wanted to see if it was quick..
so whats everyones opinion???
cheers chris

Probably not, your better spending the cash on getting a good rebuild rather than buying something thats probbaly just as knackered....

if i were you i would weigh up what you could sell the car for if it were running, then remove the cost of the engine rebuild and see what the difference is. if the difference is close to what you could sell it for as now thne i would let it go and let someone else fit a new engine to the spec they want.

sorry to hear your news though mate

to be honest mate, if there is more damage then you might first of thought then the costs will go up and up. if you rebuilt it you my as well go a forge'd route but at the saem time the cost can be very similar of a 2.5 block so you may as well pop that in, as the engine is out might as well do the studs, rods, pistons so you have a built 2.5 to run some mid 400 figures along with supporting mods at a later date, all the money starts to mount up and quick. if it were me and i assume it you car is a v3 type r from you picture i would look at market value and then sell the car minus the cost of a rebuild plus a little more to make it worth while to someone.

think there is someone looking foe a shell in the wanted section at the minute, so it might be worth a look mate.

best of luck what ever you do

steve

ya offered him it when it was running, but he said he wanted a non runner.....
now it is..
so will try him again..
the bloke who makes the engines round here, might have it yet as he likes buying cheap scoobs, then does the work and making a few quid.
i look what the v4 goes for,and work out a price
its got all the bits,to make a good track car,but money is my main problom at the minute..
as we are just having new bathroom and kitchen done,so the other half is not impressed,
that i have blown it up..."woman". if it was a pair of £200 shoes,i bet we could afford it.....
