Default Disconnecting the battery - WRX bugeye

Hi folks,

Is there anything major to be aware of when disconnecting the battery? I've had the car 1.5 years now and this is the first time I've had to disconnect the battery (getting ready for charging).

Also, and apologies if this question has been asked a million times (I tried searching and didn't manage to find the answer) but does the factory fitted radio/cassette/cd player require a code after disconnecting the battery? If so, where is the cheapest and easiest place to get it/retrieve it - I cannot see any reference to it in the handbook.

Cheers in advance.

From memory the radio will rest itself so you'll need the code.

Dealers may have this if you give them the chassis number

I've never needed a code for mine. Just had to retune all the presets.

For the record, I finally got round to disconnecting the battery, charging it, and then reconnecting it. No side effects etc on reconnecting, just a short blip from the alarm as the battery was connected and that was it, no radio code problems.

Cheers for your input folks.

As the man says a smart charger is the way to go in situ.an every now and then ALDI sell a smart charger that for £5 does everything a £40 charger does ive had one for 3 years for the blade,z1000 and drop it on the scoob once or twice just to up the charge if it has not been run a long enough distance for a while they had them in stock last month around us in Worksp.
