Default Looking to buy...

Hi all,

Looking to buy an import '93 Impreza wrx in black which I have seen.

A few quick questions I have:

Am I right in thinking that as standard these were 240bhp?

Also what turbo would be fitted as standard - The seller said it is a TD05 but unsure what the standard one would be.

As above what would the standard injectors be on this car?

Thanks in advance

240ps (236bhp) although it may not be running that as it is 16 years old
TD05-16G is standard (great turbo)
380cc injectors

Great thanks for your help fella

It has a full HS exhaust and de-cat. If I was to put the 550 injectors and fuel pump. With a re-map from JGM what sort of power would I be looking at. Ideally want it running close to 300bhp.

Thanks and sorry for the newbie questions.

Okay i'll read up on the FMIC.

Am I right in thinking that the 550 pink injectors from a 2005 STi will fit a 93 wrx?

tbh if you want 300bhp buy some 2nd hand 440 injectors (yellow) from a late model classic, get an adapter from here Carl Davey, specialist Subaru Impreza parts supply as they will get 300bhp and probably be a lot cheaper than the 550s

Thanks for the welcome Bob.

I had been told that they may be top fed on the new one's as opposed to side fed one's on the classic.

thanks for confirming!

Depending on your budget look around find one that’s already got some mods done or just go for a STI you will spend the extra getting the WRX up to 300bhp anyway.
V3 STI would be my choice, I had one last year plenty of nice ones around with a reliable 300bhp

Thanks for all the replies chaps

I will likely go for the 440 injectors and adaptors that Bob has recommended.

On the lookout for the STi topmount also. I did not really want to go for the FMIC as I don't like the look of them surprisingly

rbaz - The reason for going for this WRX is that it has had the bottom end replaced with higher spec parts and is in my budget, the ver 3-4 are not. The STi insurance is far higher than the WRX one also.

If anyone knows of some 440c injectors and STi top mount please do let me know

I've got a good condition V2 STI tmic ( direct replacement ), nearly new simota panel filter, as new bailey dump valve ( with all fitments ) and a V2 STI 6K ecu ( your ecu is not mappable ).

Let me know if your interested

Im in the South London/Kent area.

PS. I would recommend a uprated fuel pump aswell for this upgrade

Id recommend the brakes being upgraded before anything else, they really do suck

Can always paint a FMIC black Here's a Hybrid GT2 we supplied to Mocom Racing:

STi8 TMIC is the only one really worth fitting, and they can be a bit of a bugger on your slanty TMIC version cars and would likely work out no cheaper than a FMIC.

Swings and roundabouts.
