First few miles in the brand new '02 WRX, I've managed 28.2 to the gallon on Optimax. I'm going to have that Shell receipt framed!!

Car is a MY99 full decat, ITG & Dawes running 266bhp, the 220 figure was without the Dawes........

Had 400miles out of the tank when i first got the car and was running her in, now probably on average 320-350miles and if i push her prob around 280ish (cars an MY00 PPP with downpipe so looking at 260+bhp here) only found you loose lots of fuel when you exceed 100mph
so honestly i dont do it that much ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

PS, depending on car/type/age and fuel tank dependant, probably affects your fuel consumption, ie mine has a 60ltr tank, someone
elses (pre96?) may only have a 50ltr tank.
PPS runs on optimax and sul only![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

LOL! well it does go down but i normally do long runs in the car (140 mile round trips etc) so i still have quite a bit of fuel left to play with (over half a tank
) but town driving is the killer, or playing with a 911.... both see that fuel gauge go down quite rapidly ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Tony
(but the 911 is more entertaining
)

Optimax is shells super unleaded, its a higher ron rating over normal unleaded and super unleaded (95 and 97 ron) as its 98.6 so better burn and less chance of det in your engine (also super unleaded fuel gives better mpg normally)

Scotty, sounds like you have a pre 96 car then?
all jap imports need high octane fuel and optimax is the best out there at the mo, jap cars are designed to run on 100 ron fuel as this is what the ignition timing is set at, any less (ie 95 ron) can and has been known to be the cause of many a dead engine and large repayment of bank loan for new one![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Tony,
Were you being towed to get that range or had an extra large tank ??
My MY97 used to average around the 230 miles per tank - 21 MPG
P1 is slightly better at around 250-260 - 234 MPG. Obviously these are average and i've seen a tank go in 160 miles after some exuberant B road use.
Steve.

LOL@SteveB ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Thats when i first had the car steve (400miles) and popped down to winchester to visit my mate and as she was still running in i took it gently (under 100mph
) and its all Mway too!
Now the rest is just normal driving (and the PPP is a bit better on fuel than the normal ecu) but still get 300 miles out of the tank on average, 350 is when i take it easy but have used 1/4 of a tank in 40 miles playing on those "private roads"![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I have only had my car about 3 weeks or so but this is what I have found so far (99 STI V5 Type R).
First week I went my normal way to work, 10 Miles, 30-40mph limits & got about 238 Miles to the low fuel warning light!
Second week tried going round the dual carriage way, 19 Miles, 75-100Mph & got about 275 Miles to the warning light!
Cost about £38 to fill up with Optimax........only seem to get around 50L in it though?????
[Forgot to mention my car has a few mods, exhaust, LINK ECU etc - 320Bhp]
