Default Type -r no boost

Hi

Ive just been out in my type-r, went round a corner, gave it some right foot and no boost! i let my foot off the pedal then reapplied and boost was back, i though i had noticed this problem before once or twice but it was barely noticable, the car is fairly new to me and i thought i was being paranoid and just looking for problems so just left it, this time has made me think something is definatly not right.

The car was imported from japan at the beggining of the year and im the 1st uk owner, its had a full service some done by myself and some by a local specialist, i also had a new maf sensor fitted, and the only mods are a k&n style panel filter and a greddy boost guage.

I dont really know where to start looking, ive heard about cleaning the boost solenoid, could this be the problem? any help appreciated

tthe car is version 6 type r

thanks tristan

was what i was gonna say and from what i read isnt too good for your engine as runs lean i think when it happens, fill her up to top and try a few hard corners and you can rule that out or not, hth.

i wouldnt say it was really low on fuel, probably around the last quarter on the guage, the fuel light definatly was not on, would it be worth cleaning the boost control solenoid?

would still put this down to fuel surge mate, my type r does it when cornering hard when its getting down to 1\4 of a tank. Try filling it up and see if it still does it, if it doesnt you know thats ya problem, if it does then nothing wasted cos your gunna be needing the fuel anyway. Could clean the boost solinoid yes cos thats not gunna do any harm.
