Is it just me or do cats like to sit by the scoop?

Is it just me or do cats like to sit by the scoop?
I spent over an hour meticulously cleaning and waxing the Subaru earlier, yet 2 hours later I come out to find 2 cats sitting on the bonnet warming themselves in the escaping heat. I now have to re do the bloomin bonnet

Got three cats in the home here and they love the bonnet scoop as the heat seems to emanate from there for hours. Not to worried about keeping it clean as I am doing 250 miles a week just commuting before I think about using it weekends so it is permanently filthy!

My son keeps his EVO under a tailored cover and the bit between the rear spoiler and roof provides a nice "hammock" for our cat, Beavis

Mine does the same after I've been out in the car and the bonnet is warm. He'll often curl up in the space between the slope on the back of the scoop and the windscreen.
If I haven't been out in the car, he'll sit on the roof when the sun warms it, then to get off, slide down the windscreen onto the bonnet and hop off.
Washed it the other day, and he came into the house looking a bit guilty - when I looked at the car there was a trail of muddy paw prints up one side of the bonnet, then a patch of them on the roof, a big muddy smear down the windscreen, and another line of paw prints where he had got off the bonnet on the other side.

Put some orange peel on their favorite spot.
Put some water in an old detailer spray bottle and give them a quick squirt (cats hate water) Doesn't harm them but they soon learn!

get a dog barking machine with a remote, tuck speaker inside the scoop, then just as they get comfy set the barking off, doubt they'll be back, might have to clean some cat crap up though lol
