Collins Performance Eng in Cheshire... powerchip?
hi all
does anyone know anything about Collins Performance Eng. in cheshire?
and anything about there powerchip upgrade for the newage imprezas?
just looking at a car and all the owner knows is he has a receipt from Collins Performance Eng in Cheshire, the receipt just says Powerchip upgrade for Subaru Impreza, the cost was £300..
just really want to know whether this was a proper remap or what. never heard of simple chippin on newages.. unless it was an open source map?
any ideas?
cheers
p.s. if it has been 'chipped' or whatever in the past or even ekutekd .. (note. chippin recipet is from 2005so been a while) is it still posible to get it open source mapped or not?
thanks

What year/version is your scoob??
And as for superchps generic tuned chip........What everyone else said.
These generic tunes are just that....generic!! Regardless of what they about their tune being specific to your mods it's total ballacks. There is no substitute for a full custom remap which genuinely is specific to your vehicle whether it be for a newage, classic or aftermarket ECU

had a superchip fitted to my old blob STi(unknowingly). it felt like it was faster than my ppp bug STi. Although the drive was a bit rough, crude if you like, off or on boost. Took it to Andrew C for a remap we could not get past 1.2 bar. After much head scratching he found the chip and removed it. After the remap car was much more civilised, faster, altogether smoother. So to start again, remap would be my prefered option, think more of the engines parameters are changed to suit your car and not generic. IMO obviously.
