Default Carbon bonnet, are they legal?

Sorry to post *****. As well as wheels i'm looking at getting a Carbon Bonnet. I noticed they do say "for track/show use" etc.

Are they actually legal to have on the car?. Don't fancy chucking £400 upwards out if plod tells me to get it off.

Probably a legal disclaimer as when a car is crash tested it has a metal bonnet absorbing the impact. If you front end the car you can't sue them if you get hurt. Never heard of anyone having problems with plod or MOT's with a carbon bonnet.

I think the legality is to do with the splinters. I read that a few years back. Only really the same as a fibreglass bonnet I would have thought like a robin reliant. Unless carbon shatters more.

Mmmmm the plod around my way can be right ***** if the mood takes them. I'm not sure now. I used to have one on my(sorry) Civic years back but they were rare then, so not sure if the oink squad are fly to them now. Will do some digging see if anyone has had a bad experience.
Cheers for views guys.

they are not illegal........... the bonnet pins you often need might be a problem if someone takes a tumble across your bonnet and injures themselves. Then they could sue

Classic face lift is the motor. I know you get alu ones for older classics, but i dont think they fit. Still not sure on the carbon. They are super expensive and ebay ones may be guff. Going a bit off it now to be honest.
