Catalunya questions
Evening
Just gone and bought one on a 97. And cant see any difference between that and a wrx,
Things that have been changed are
2006 wrx interior (dont know why!)
High level spoiler
And sti rear lights does any one know the difference between it and a WRX its a UK car too
Also annoyed as prevoiuse owner has lost plaque is there any way off getting a new one.
Car is mint BUT head gasket is on way out not bothered as its booked in in morning for headgasket and skimming etc.
So question 1 what makes it different
Question 2 where can i get a new plaque from?

Catalunya
In 1996, Subaru again won the manufacturers title in the FIA World Rally Championship, finally winning the title with the points gained on the Catalunya rally of Spain. To celebrate this, another limited edition run of 200 cars (again with no number 13) was produced, this time going by the name of the Catalunya (I wonder why?) The main features of the “Cats”, as they are commonly known as are:
Special black mica paintwork (red metallic flecks)
Colour matched door mirrors
Gold Alloys (same ones as fitted to 2.0 Sport, but painted gold)
Front and rear seats and side door panelling re-trimmed in black with red highlights
Short rally style gear **** (initial sales blurb promised a quick shift!)
Carbon fibre effect dashboard
Air conditioning
Special floor mats (black with red trim and Catalunya logo)
Side and rear Catalunya decals
Interior numbered Catalunya plaque
The first examples were registered during March 1997, for an on the road price of £21,610. Note that some dealers decided to cash in on tremendous demand for “Cats”, and fitted leather seats, sunroof and other options to all their Cats, forcing buyers to hand over significantly more money than the list price, increasing their profit margin on each

we went to look at a car near wigan that was missing the plaque and had the mods you describe, other probs we found were the chassis no on the bulkhead had been filled over and painted and then it has been re stamped on the strut top! and the paint just didnt look right for some reason.
Im guessing a reshell due to an interior fire, why else would you get rid of the original interior?

Cant remember mate was about 8 months ago when my mate was looking for a scoob and it was local to us in standish near wigan. Im not saying it was rough it just didnt look like the genuine article because we had been looking at a few. I mean loosing the plaque sounds dodgy straight away then after seeing the chassis number covered and painted I thought it must have been reshelled into a std turbo 2000.

From: Slowly rebuilding the kit of bits into a car...
The plaque was a cheap piece of shoite. I removed mine as it was an embarassment....
No big spoiler, no STI rear lights, but a black and red (WRX or STI ?) interior, some carbon-ish dash and air con as standard.
Mine was bought to jump the year long queue at the time.... how times have changed.

Only jap spec classics came with ihi turbo`s. All uk cars came with td o4 or td 05 except the 22B and the P1 which had ihi. So whatever ihi you have has been put on. But it will be better than a TD 04.

It should have VF then a number stamped on it. Like VF28 Or VF29. Thats only an example as you can get a vf22, 23, 24, and a whole lot more.
Sorry. Did you mean what turbo or what number limited edition your car is?
