Default Turbo Problem?

I had a VF34 (new) turbo fitted to my 03 wrx, along with other supporting mods a couple of months ago and everything has been great since. However yesterday when i was driving home I noticed that the noise from the turbo had changed and had become a lot louder, and i dont really know how to describe it, kind of a more meaty noise than the previous high pitched whistling noise. It doesnt sound right to me anyway.

Now I have a very basic knowledge of engines, and so I don't really know where to start looking or what the problem might be. Could this be a serious problem? Could anyone give me some pointers of simple things to check in the first instance?

Thanks

Joe

Agree with the above comment if you are not that technically minded. A look over the pipework from the air filter through the turbo to the inlet manifold may find the reason and prevent any further damage due to crap being sucked in. Also one loose jubilee clip that is easily tightened could save you a few quid.

Is your up pipe decatted??

If not you could have bits of cat impeding the impellors.

It happened to me & it's not uncommon.
