Hi All
Sorry for short notice...
This Saturday we are doing the "Scooby vs Challenger" article group test for The ScoobyNews CD Magazine.
The challenger car to be featured in this first issue will be the Ferrari 355 and we intend to show the differences between it and the various models of Scoob.
There will be the following sections to the test...
- Drag race (all drivers drive their own cars along a *gentle* launch (like briskly pulling away from the traffic lights) and then on to a 1/4 mile)
- Handling Course (All driving by me through a short handling course. This will be timed and subjectively assessed in terms of feel, feedback, confidence, general handling characteristics, etc.)
- Photoshoot (All driving by me. To get a number of action shots.)
If you would like to get involved and support us, let me know.
Best regards
Simon

Simon - Very keen to do this.
'Various models of Scoob' - I have a MY94 WRX, modified (See members gallery...)
Are you only after 'standard' models or are you willing to use modified examples?

Hi Chaps
Thanks for the support!![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif)
We do really want cars that are fairly standard, but don't mind a few tweaks.
Gussie let me know fo definite and I'll book you in.
Dave, you were pipped at the post for the late UK car
drop me a line if you would like to be a stand-by? Sorry, but we have to keep the numbers down out of respect fro Bruntingthorpe.
Cheers
Simon

Simon,
I have a standard 4 door MY95 Turbo (apart from leather interior) if you need it. I live about 5 miles from Buntingthorpe if that's an incentive.
PS. You have to promise not to hurt it!!![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif)
Cheers

Re: tyres...
Tyres Northampton are hoping to be there to put part worn tyres on anyones car if you are worries about wear, but are confirming with me later due to the short notice...
We are expecting rain (possibly even snow!) and there will be very little time that the cars will spend sideways so I expect very little in the way of tyre wear.
The Ferrari's tyres are due to be eaten up and spat out all over bruntingthorpe, but that is mainly as it is the car I need to spend most of the time in.
I really don't expect any significant tyre wear at all, as the handling course will be very short and we only intend to do two runs in each car.
All the best
Simon

Simon, happy to help if I can. Please
Can't wait to be a star in Scoobynews ![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)
UK00, PPP, ProDrive suspension, full Scoobysport exhaust, APR brakes.
So standard car, really.
Tyres - wad-do-ya-want? New SO2s, knackered PZeros, or slix?
Am I in? If not, where's the nearest Little Chef you'll be stopping for lunch? Will there be any parking spaces not filled with Scoobs?!
Richard Hopkins.

Hi Chaps
Thanks guys, my inbox has burst!! finally it has happened! lol![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)
What a lovely show of support. Such a contrast to the efforts and trouble to arrange a couple of EVO's a few weeks ago.![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif)
What do we still need....
OK..
22B - (Although I think that's sorted now)
P1 - (We've just had the gentleman with the P1 drop out due to other commitments)
STi
Thanks again for all the support, it should be a damn good laugh.
I forgot to say (not sure if it's obvious)...
1) Whilst, avoiding the ridiculously small chance of damage is the highest on my priorities I should point out that your car is insured while I'm driving it. (just in-case that was a concern.)
2) You will of course be welcome to "co-drive" in your car when it is being tested :-). This is also probably obvious.
All the best

Hi,
For those going to Bruntingthorpe on Saturday and don't know the area, here are some instructions on how to get there;
From the South on M1 north, or North on M1 south.
Exit at J20 (Lutterworth)
At roundabout take A4304 towards Market Harborough
Continue for 4 miles
At North Kilworth, turn left into Pincet lane (opposite White Lion pub) This road is a bit twisty!!
At junction with A5199 turn left towards Leicester (this road has been re-surfaced recently, so could be a bit greasy).
Continue for 2.3 miles. After a going down a hill there is a crossroads. Don't overshoot.
Turn left towards Bruntingthorpe at crossroads.
Continue for 1.6 miles.
When you reach the airfield, the main entrance is on the left. You can not miss it.
From West on M6 South
Take the M6 all the way to the end, but DON'T continue onto the M1 south. Take the slip road for the M1 north (this does not have a Junction number, but is after J1 southbound).
Now you have a choice. Either take a left at the roundabout and head up to J20 and take it as above.
Or, for a bit more fun (and dirt unfortunately)
Go under the M1 to the next roundabout and go straight across taking the first available exit (Swinford)
Don't go onto the A14. It the exit before this.
Stay on this road all the way to North Kilworth. It passes through a couple of villages, so watch your speed. It's a great road and I use it everyday on my commute. However, it's a bit muddy, so can be slippy (and gets your car dirty).
When you reach North Kilworth turn Right at the T-junction and the next left onto Pincet Lane.
Follow the rest of the instructions as above.
PS.
Simon. Can you confirm who is in???
Cheers
