I have been told that the factory option side strips are made of a soft compound.

This means that you are unable to colour code them (well if you do, they aint gonna last a long time)

I am in search of side protection strips made of a semi-hard compound, thus being able to colour code them. Also that can be fitted without too much modification.

Has anyone found some that will fit?

Is this for a P1 or a 4 door? MY01 or less?

I've got an MY00 4 door with side protection strips on from Holland which have the subaru logo (5 stars + word subaru) that look the puppies parts. Just spoken to the dealer, and they're 160NLG.

They're not paintable, but I prefer them to the UK ones.

Rumour has it that Mondeo strips fit and are available painted. what model Mondeo? - I've no idea.

A friend of mine is a panel beater by trade.....He colour coded my side strips well over 12 months ago and they still look new (costed $50 AUS lira in materials). Its an MY94 so I dont know how "soft" the material is on that model.

Just do it and see how it goes

Chizz et al: I'll take a piccy of the logo detail and post it for your delight and education.

I think they look better than the UK ones with "Impreza" written plainly down the side.

Not sure whether you could paint or not.

Mine are fab, have been on for some time and still look great.



I don't see any signs of the paint falling off - ever.
