105 MPH on M2 @ 4:00 in the morning
Kent police stopped me and asked me how fast I thought I was going, I said 75 mph ish... then asked me to produce my licence. Asked me to sit in his car and see the evidence of me doing 105 mph (photo of the back of my car with some digital numbers around the screen) and court papers arrived today.
105mph on M2 at 4 oclock in the morning ( I was not speeding obviously but the ferry from ramsgate to Ostende was about to leave without me )
Possible ban?

Unfortunately, yes. More than 100 and you're looking at some time off!
However, a good solicitor will argue that the time of day and your circumstances should be taken into account - if you have no previous offences, you may get off with 6-9 points and a nice fine!
You need to seek legal advice NOW!

nope, i got caught by a bloke and his gun on m62 doing 111mph when i was 18, went to court and got 6 points and a £75 fine. obviously getting 6 points at 18 meant my licence was revoked, so had to do my test again, but if youve had a licence over 2 yearsd then im sure you wont be banned mate

and i had no solicitor or anything, just turned up in some black trousers and a shirt and said i know i was speeding, im sorry, just didn't realise i was speeding to that extent - 6 point and £75 fine

over 100mph is technically a ban but ....
produce a letter from your employer to the court stating that you need to be able to drive for work (customer site visits etc) and you might get away with 6-9 points plus 3 provisional that only come into effect with another offence. That and fair sized fine.
my mate got clocked doing an average speed of 115mph over a 2.5 mile distance in his r34 cos the dopey tw@t didn't notice the t5 tailing him at a distance until it was too late. He did the above and kept his license

You could be banned or going on some cases that have happened over the last few years you could get off with points and a fine. It all depends on so much IMO; condition of vehicle, weather conditions, your previous driving record, Judge, evidence, solicitor etc etc
There was a young girl who was caught driving a Ferrari at well over 100mph early last year in the papers but she didn't get banned. She claimed she was a competant driver, wanted to be the first female F1 driver and all sorts of crap but really I think she was just a rich little Daddies girl with a competant solicitor. Best get one, goodluck

Magistrates generally trade bans for money: if you plead hardship and get it, the fine will be tripled at least. It's up to you whether you consider your licence or you bank account more important.

99 or below is the magic number, If I was you I would expect a 3 month ban and a £500 ish fine.
You an try to argue it but do it on the advice of a good brief that has a good defence, If you mess about that could turn into a 6 month ban very easily.
Of course some people have walked away with points and a fine but they are few and far between.

generally 30mph over any speed limit is a ban whether it be a 30 zone or 70 zone and thats is direct from the plods mouth through mine.
as said previously seek legal advice as soon as you can and you really need to argue your case, anyone who got off with it consider yourself lucky.
also try and get a letter of your boss saying you could well get the sack if you dont have your license as it is esential for your job, alot of the time this will work alone as the judges dont want more doleys but youll get max points and hefty fine.
get legal advice as that is your best option
hope you get off with it

I got caught doing 100.2mph, copper said a few mph more and it would be an instant ban.
Went to court with a letter from my employer saying I would lose my job without a license. Got 3 points and a £200 fine, still got banned though, lol, coz i already had 10 points.
Saying you need you license for work doesn't always work, it depends on the judge. He did say sorry but he had to ban me as the min 3points took me over the 12points max.
Ahh well 6month ban then got a clean license back which wasn't too bad really. Better than drivin about worrying all the time coz your points are at the max.

Normally its a ban for going over 100mph but you can get that changed to lots of points and a mahoosive fine will good expensive legal advice.
Generally the ban is for 30 days so its up to you, be a pedestrian for a month or pay your lawyer a shed load of cash, then pay a massive fine and still have lots of points put on your licence.

Don't bother with a Lawyer. It will make no differencce to the magistrates. Go to court and act really nervous - even shaking, claiming how you have been extremely worried about the outcome for the whole time and how losing your licence will effect your abilty to do your job.
It will be a 'suspension' to your licence, under 60 days which means you will get your licence back in the post within a week. They only 'revoke' your licence if over 60 day suspension and then you would have to re-apply for your licence back and pay fees etc.
You will worry about the outcome until the court day, but im my opinion and personal experience it's not worth the worry.
I got caught 3 years ago at 111mph by Gwent police. I waited nearly 6 months for the court appearance. the magistrates said there was no getting away from the fact that it was a suspension but they said they could tell i was 'effected' by the waiting period and court appearance. They even asked me if it would effect my job if i lost my licence.
They took pity on me and dropped the fine from £250 to £200 and gave me a 28 day suspension. I was in the court room for about 4 minutes. I even thought before hand about getting a lawyer, but glad i didn't as they would have made bugger all difference. - though i did have a clean licence before hand.
Try not to worry too much - take it on the chin.
I know what you're currently going through!!

P.S. I had an SP30 put on my licence but they gave me no points! My Insurance premium went down on the renewal after that - lol, the insurance company weren't bothered about it.
It was a silly moment of 'over exhuberance'

I got caught in 2003 averaging over 100 on the a1m. 6 points and £100 fine. I imagine you won't get a ban considering the time in the morning when traffic would be light. Amusing to see people still pedaling the myth that anything over 100 is a ban

for once i'm happy to say that finland is better at this than the UK (i usually grumble that it's the other way round) got caught by Plod sat up with his camera doing 94km/h in a 60 zone. pulled me over (with about 6 other cars) license registration and come to sit in the back of my undercover focus. showed me a picture. 330€ fine, payable within 6 months and a chuckle that keep heavy right foot off delicate loud pedal

Some of these comments make me laugh, nothing is black n white with speeding offences. It all depends on a variety of things, one of the major being the magistrates who look at your case. Taking a letter from your employer will make **** all difference. Pleading hardship will make sod all difference, unless others rely on you for transport, e.g elderly parents. Turning up doesn't really matter either. As far as the court is concerned it's easier for them if you don't turn up, so they don't have to speak to you and waste their time so to speak. However in your case I would go
For info I got banned for 2 weeks £450 fine for 26mph over the limit 2 yrs ago, clean license, not that it's relevant to what you will get, good luck.

I got done for 109 on the M4 near Basingstoke, went to court told the beak I was used to driving a hell of a lot faster on the motorways of cyprus with no respect for the police, and that I was running injector cleaner through my car due to the low grade crappy petrol I was having to use in the UK. Plus I would lose my job if he took my licence off me so I got 3 points and 300 pound fine. No fancy lawyers and I drove myself to court.
