Default funny smell from my subaru elec burning or clutch?

Driving my suabru STI V -Limited JDM 2003 home tonight i put my foot down a little and it seemed like it were really holding back with no guts and as if the clutch was slipping.
when i parked it up i could smell an awfull smell which smelt like an electrical smell and lasted for ages, the engine is fine and i could smell it within the cabin,.suspecting it to be the clutch i put my foot down again and it bit really well and pulled really well and is fine but the smell is still there. so its not the clutch but slipping is how it felt and i cannot work out the smell,...has anyone had similar issues.the smell is still there.
I have however fitted new pads and they are bedding in, could these have possibly binded and cooked on the disc is that a possibility
It seems to be one thing after another, just after i have had it all painted, every dimple dent taken out and looks immaculate.

i would say that it could be your clutch
mine did it when i gave it some stick 1st and 2nd
then it would smell after a good hard run
but normal driving was fine
have now fitted new clutch to take the power
but most subaru's will sell after a hard run
my smell was like a electrical wire that had over heated

you must have fitted those pads quickly mate, glad you got rid of those ****#y blue stuff things.
are they any better now ?

and with regards to your clutch you would probably get better response posting it in the technical section.

In response to addisoni think you are right it must be my clutch as it does smell electrical like a burnt wire, and only when i give it some beans.
The smell had gone this morning and drove it normal and no smell.
but came back when i applied my heavy foot.
What would be the best clutch plate to handle any further increases in power that i have planned 2003 V-Limited JDM STI. cheers
