Default ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT....HELP PLS

Drove the car this morning and all was fine, although we went through alot of water (not deep). Got in the car tonigt to pick the kids up and the EML came on and i could tell after only about 20mtrs that all was not fine.
Could this be the amount of water i went through in the morning or a tad more serious....

Can you read the code like on a Classic?

Given the link with water I would suspect some damp on a connector?

as pete has said its likely to be a damp connector. start by resetting the ecu, if the eml lights up again read the code.

Had this with mine earlier this week, except she actually stopped and refused to start not just put the warning light on!

Sent her off the the garage who took it apart and put it back together and she fired up and is running fine for now so looks like water in one of the connectors.

Despite the fact that the EML was on, the car refused to give the mechanic any specific problem code so bit of a a weird one.

I would suspect you have a similar issue. Go easy for a few days I reckon.
