How would this effect the cars handling???
I got the Mrs to order me some tyres last week well she was on line and guess what, the wrong size has turned up!
Anyway i now have 2 Falken-542 215/40/16's to replace the worn fronts but ive got half worn 205/50/16's on the rear how will this effect the handling and would it be better to put the wider tyres on the rear?

You have to have the same circumference tyre on all 4 wheels on a scoob (or pretty damn close depending on wear). So you can't mix 215/40/16 and 205/50/16's on the same Scoob. Ask any tuner and I'd be suprised if they didn't say the same (unless it was a non standard diff).
Buy new tyres dude...

Have a look here
Tire size calculator
There is over a 5% difference with the new tyres, and I guess it will mess up your 4WD system eventually, as c-o-b says.
