Where sells lightweight car batteries..
Looking for a lightweight battery for the scoob, 2001 model wrx, doesnt get used that often so will need a battery that will be ok with that.
Havent used the car in 3 months, tbh 3 times and that was only 2 miles in total :0(
Plus going to relocate it to the boot so what one do I go for?
Ricey

If you go for a race type battery and you have an alarm, tracker etc draining it then the batt will only last 3-4 days between uses. Without a drain, they are fine.
Lookup a GB we did on them a while back, will have details and links on there

BPS/Battery Power Systems, Washington, Tyne and Wear. Dave Cook 0191 4173779 12B-P50 50 amp hour H=242 x 175 x 190.
If it is a car in occasional use and it is parked outside you can couple up a solar trickle charger or indeed rig one on the roof of your garage and leave it permanently attached. Alternatively invest in a trickle charger. You will soon find out how often it needs charging. Typically every three weeks. If you let the battery get flat and leave it in a flat condition for any length of time it is bricked (this is a Splitpin technical term for goosed)

Btw: with deep discharge batteries, complete discharge wont cause sulfication/failure, although they shouldnt be left like that. I dont think that an Odyssey, or similar, will be drained in a couple of days either...

Unless your car is on a trickle in the garage DO NOT buy a race battery for occasional use. Unless you use the car every day you are storing up a phonecall stranded in a car park somewhere. I have a race battery rated higher than the Odyssey and with twice weekly usage it was useless !

Banny : Don't buy on e-bay. Look at what I said.
This is still my price. There maybe a branch near you or pay carriage. £41 plus vat = £47.15.
The O.P. wants a light battery and I think is from Scotland. These guys are also at East Kilbride, Glasgow post code, G74 5NT. 013552 446.

Last battery I bought above July or August was £47 odd.

Banny : Sorry mate but the battery I gave you is for a Sinclair C%. Got the invoices mixed up and the bettery you want is either Numax or Varta.
Size approx is 185x 130x165. Dave will assist you choose the right one.
One on the floor here is only 7.7 kg.

Doesn't sound too bad. Only 10% heavier than the PC680 and a bit bigger.
And CONSIDERABLY CHEAPER.
