Angry Mcrae gathering

So who now has a gathering pic saying worlds largest mosaic, but not really. How can GWR give you a record for one thing, then change there mind after the event?

Sounds very petty to me.
Surely a mosaic is just a pattern, and our pattern happened to spell a name.

ah I wondered if there would be a thread about this.

I'm annoyed with GWR too.
our event was in August 2008 and we paid for an adjudicator to witness and award the record on the day - video evidence is on You Tube.

In January 2009, the GWR records management people decided to reclassify our attempt......
and didn't have the courtesy to tell us

I had to contact them to find out whats going on.

there's nothing we could do,
they weren't up for refunding the money we paid out
and the money that you guys paid for the prints and posters have already been handed to Colin McRae Vision charity.

yes it does suck but we hope that those that took part in the event will still think of it as a mosaic.

cheers,
imy

Almost 9 years of Subaru ownership and have to say the McRae Gathering was the best event I've ever been to. Credit to the Organisers

(Doh! still gotta frame my limited edition print)

Totally agree.
No matter what GWR say or do, they can't take that away.
Fantastic day out.

Was a fantastic day, one never to forget.

As for the frame, I bought one from a shop called 'The Range' for about a £12. Lobbed the picture that came in it out and fitted the Mcrae picture in. Looks spot on

Just need to find an A1 size one to fit the poster in

It does seem rather petty of them; doesnt it? You have to wonder whether theyve been pressured into revising their decision. Its a shame when they attended the event and endorsed the record: its also a shame that it was a lesser Japanese Subaru 'mosaic' that has usurped it.

With regards to the picture: if you look carefully you can see me (helped by the very bright coat and the fact that most people had left the parking area when the helicopter flew over...).
