It seems most on there are running stage 2 or 3 so hardly fair to plus "it has STi injectors" IIRC the 2.5 WRX and STi injectores are the same. Turbo FWD, great in the dry, on a straight road, already rolling!

although the subaru has more power at the fly wheel, it looses alot of power due to being 4wd, so the "at the wheel" power of the scooby is alot lower. Not to mention the weight difference! but take it to a bendy road and ask him to put the kettle on while he waits for you.
Sounds like at least one of them knows the score...

The OP on that thread appears to have a Corsa VXR, the topic is posted in the Corsa VXR section.
His standard Corsa VXR kept up with a wrxrunning 290bhp/305lbs

just noticed the thread lower down on about 2litre engines so presumed woz astra vxr as the corsa as a 1.6l engine i believe!! anyhow would still prefer the scoob!

i remember the first vxr i saw im my old wrx. As i passed him in 3rd gear i thought mmm they are pretty quick. that was coming off a roundabout (me behind) onto a long straight. He did start to catch the 4 or so car lengths up once i hit my 112 limiter
rolling road @261bhp 93 wrx. back in 2006 : should of never sold that car.

The fact is the vxr is a new car which costs ££££££!!! and you can go buy a scoob for 2K that will not only stay with it but has superior handling!

come on guys power is not everything

one more thing for the astra vxr is thats it.. really Its just a vxr that can compete with a standard wrx and thats about it. Thats what the owners need to realise. And not for much longer either with the power getting upped on the wrxs in standard form. Also from a standing start i dont think it could cope well at all. There nice cars an all that but the subaru impreza is far superior in pretty much every aspect imo

They should give a classic with 290bhp a race rather than a lardy newage Nice to see we are still the benchmark for young pillocks to aspire to beat.

What is the stage 2 / 3 thing? Reminds me of those dodgy chips sold on ebay!!!
