Spot lights on a classic.
Hello peeps.
I have been looking into improving the lights on my preface lift classic. I was wondering if anybody has fitted any spot/driving lights to there classics if so can you post a pic please. Not looking for twinhead light conversions as I dont like them.

Have Hella 90mm HID spots on mine. Fitment and covers are as per the P1 lights so you know what they look like. Very effective - although I guess you know that with any spots you're only going to get the advantage on main beam. The one downside of them is that the drop from main to dip is very pronounced.

If you don't wan to start fitting additional lights Put PIAA H4 bulbs in your headlights - the ones that draw 60w and give out 110w on main beam - best to upgrade the side light bulbs at the same time.
I also fitted PIAA 80XT driving lights as well with 120w bulbs
sorry no pics though
but probably one of the best mods you can do apart from fitting AP 6 pots
ps - do a search for PIAA 80XT as there are a few pics in threads of these lights
HTH
Cheers

Unless you fit projector HID's for your dipped beam then that eliminates any day/night scenario
ps. I'm running HID Hella 1000FF's too like Mr Alcazar.

I have the PIAA driving lights fitted with uprated 130watt bulbs, have to say they are very good on full beam, although as said above they do tend to let in water and corrode very easily. I got them from Scoobyworld:
Lighting - Impreza 1993-2000 : Subaru Impreza PIAA Driving Lamps
Only problem i find is that when you flick back to dipped beam its like having to half lit candles, fecking terrible lol....Highly recommend the PIAA's for full beam though!!
Hoping to get some HID's with a retrofit projector soon though if the fella on who here who has been talking about it starts producing them
Was in a mates EVO 8 at the weekend and the HID's are just so good you feel you have to have them

Till HID kits became cheap the performance of auxiliary lights was defined by the size and shape of the reflector....
Those look cool, but if you really want to see far enough ahead you need proper lights

RB5Boyo, yes as alcazar has said they are Bi-Xenon, so one bulb that stays stationary with a metal plate that flicks down on a solenoid on full beam. Its also true that I wipe my engine over with anti-bacterial wipes before I serve up the food
The Hella HID spots are wired up to simply come on, on full beam.
These are the little beauty's......
The Retrofit Source (U.S.) - HID Projector Retrofit Kits, Retrofit and HID Componenents, Projectors Lens, Wiring Harnesses, Shrouds and more!

New reflectors? (Demon Tweeks etc).
Have the old reflectors resilvered? (Google: Genius of the Lamp)
Replace the PIAA's with Hella 1000FF, then go HID like Dunx and Stevo210?
TBH: the last is probably your best bet, AFAIK, the fittings will be the same for both PIAAs and Hellas.

I fitted PIAA to my old UK turbo - Wasn't it you who helped me wire them Alcazar?
Was a PITA but managed it in the end.

Picked my Hellas up from Susquehanna MotorSports - High Performance Vehicle Lighting and Competition Accessories It looks like they have discontinued the 'kits' but you can buy individual lamps and get the wiring separately.
