Default Impreza Backfire

Hey guys i own a 1997 impreza which seems to misfire/backfire(not sure what 1) it seems to jump back and forth and lose some power when i put my foot down, ive checked and changed wires and spark plugs,a friend told me to replace the coil pack to solve the problem..

What do you think?

Many thanks
Si

thats failing coil packs , not getting correct spark

Could be Plugs , Coil packs

but could also be Camshaft sensor , knock sensor, injectors.

do you smell fuel when its hesitating ?>

you can check your coil packs easy, does your car have a coil per plug or 1 coil pack with leads?

£192 pretty pricey.

you need to check it for cracks, small hairline cracks can give a weak spark.

Check your coild leads also.

clean your camshaft position sensor and the crank sensor
