some clutch advice from those in the know please
Guys
just bought an 04 wagon. running around 300hp
I am going to replace the clutch and would like some valuable feedback from those who have gone down this route.
I want to keep costs down as this is my 2nd wagon and i have bought it as a bit of fun. Will this clutch be ok as i can live with the price
Subaru Impreza WRX & STi Turbo Exedy Clutch Kit 94 t 96 on eBay (end time 26-Jan-10 10:48:53 GMT)
Or do i HAVE to upgrade to an organic clutch or similar?
Thanks guys

I would only buy a cluch from a reputable dealer ebay clutches are a bit of a grey area. Also this particular one is only a 225 drive plate.
I recently bought my 230 clutch from aztec performance and they sell genuine exedy clutches at good prices.
Here is the link to the one i bought for all 5 speed cars
AZTEC PERFORMANCE ONLINE STORE - WHOLESALE PRICES DIRECT TO THE PUBLIC - Clutches & Lightweight Flywheels :: Subaru Impreza :: Exedy 230mm Organic Clutch Kit - 5 Speed Impreza Turbo (Inc WRX, STi)

Thanks for the recommendations guys
Hi Matt,
If you are still on the standard TD04 turbo I would fit this one: AZTEC PERFORMANCE ONLINE STORE - WHOLESALE PRICES DIRECT TO THE PUBLIC - Clutches & Lightweight Flywheels :: Subaru Impreza :: Exedy 225mm Organic Clutch Kit - 5 Speed Subaru Impreza Turbo (Inc WRX, STi)
If you plan on going much further an uprated organic would be more suitable: AZTEC PERFORMANCE ONLINE STORE - WHOLESALE PRICES DIRECT TO THE PUBLIC - Clutches & Lightweight Flywheels :: Subaru Impreza :: Exedy Uprated Organic Racing Clutch Kit - Pink Box - Anti-Judder - 5 Speed
Early 5 speed gearboxes used the 225mm clutch, later ones and your model use the 230mm version. They are both interchangeable, but the bigger the clutch the more torque it will handle (on a like for like clutch).
