Its normal yep traction is great> Just remember like all other cars they dont stop very well in snow/ice and the abs is over sensitive

The power distribution depends on what model you have?

as said the AWD is great for getting up hills, i put it to good use today by crawling up a hill that others demeaned inpassable. but it doesn't matter how many driven wheels you have it won't help you stop any quicker and it won't save you if you hit black ice in a bend so still take it easy.

Yea. I had a scary moment the other day in the snow!
Going down a steep hill in the slush, was going no more than 10mph because it was properly slippy and the back end tried to overtake me! Eventually got control and cruised to the bottom where I parked up and began breathing again.
Getting up the hills generally not a problem but what goes up must come down!

just found that out, and gone and slid into a f£$^kin park car

back end came round slightly, tried correcting by easing off didn't work then a touch of throttle regained slightly but pointing towards a car and slid into it

At least a wing, FMIC, rad, morrettes, bumper and bonnet gone

only had it a couple of months

Unlucky. Fresh snow is the worst when it clogs up the tread.

50/50 front rear split. LSD at the back, open diff at the front.

TD04 should start spooling by about 2600-2800rpm.

Leave it alone unless you want to invalidate your insurance, you can drive quite happily with it on, just give yourself more room and very gentle braking, the camber and tyres are your worst nightmare

4WD is no use at all in the snow without the right tyres, just ask my friend with the Discovery 3
There's no way I'd be out in this snow driving a car I cared about....

Blimey, talk about tempting fate! There's less than 2 hours between the original "smug" () post and the subsequent reported accident. Poor bugger. Hope it gets fixed OK.

Do you set yours to 'Lock' in this weather or an intermediate setting?

I vary it, only using the 'Lock' for extreme slippy hills, as if you are low speed turning it will cause the fronts to slide. I always keep it as open as possible and just have my finger ready to increase it as needed.

It's arrived! got about a foot, not going to even bother trying to drive in these conditions, it's madness. I could easily do it, but with other idiots on the roads who have no idea, forget it.
