Got to admit possible engine failure was a major reason that I chopped the 330s in for a Focus RS although I did have it remapped to 384/394 and an over boost situation put the wind up me !!!!!!

No, surely that isn't sunny side up spreading his gospel of standard cars never failing, and having had his for many many years and no problems.
No it couldn't possibly be subaru's fault, because his car is still going. Well done you. Seriously, bullet proof!
I can't even be bothered listing the standard cars that my wife and I have had that have failed. My wife drives like an old man, probably very like sunny side up and yet her car still broke down.
This is a forum for enthusiasts and that often means people wishing to alter a car to their individual tastes.
Standard WRX. How is that an improvement?
Good luck Arron.
Rob, I love your car.

Hi again boys and girls.
Car is completely standard.
Always run on optimax however the dealer I bought it from as a used car was using regular unleaded for its first 1500 miles which I did bring up with them as a potential problem.
It has now done 8500 miles??
There was no warning of this failure as I said I wasnt even driving it hard at the time??
Car is going to Slip End to hopefully sort as the dealer I bought it from wont have a bloody clue what to do with it.
Just hope thay dont have the hump as I didnt buy it from them!!!
Have bought vehicles from them before mind and they will get the warranty work so should all be cool fingers crossed.
Astra petrol courtesy car is nice!!
I would just add that the assist is first class car recovered and courtesy car all within 2 hours.
Very good.
Will keep you all posted.

bad luck mate. even standard engines can go bang!
ive worked for a few vehicle manufacturers and the engine failiures that ive seen come back through warranty are no different. some are down to manufacturing some are design, some are misuse. it happens. im sure the car will be covered by the manufacturers warranty. use it.
so its not just subarus. oil pump failure on my brother in laws 05 audi caused 4k worth of damage 3 months outisde of warranty. audi agreed to pay half as a "good will gesture"

Bad luck arron
at least the head gaskets didn't fail before the engine
Some peeps I know won#t map them over 310bhp due to high risk of head gasket or piston failures
Anyway it#s covered by warrranty but won't be long till "They" discover spending more repairing them than sellin them then it will be ALL due to owner Mods like blue wing repeaters ;cool:
IMHO

I haven't had to add a drop of oil since I had mine serviced in March last year.
I've just gone out and checked again, just to be sure.
I take it I am just lucky?

I check the oil weekly really but I have never had to put a drop in it???
if It isnt covered under warranty i will put it through IM`s door!!
Its not even a Year old ffs.
I bought this model because it had all the best mods done from the factory.
I had an engine go the same way in 2002 on my Bugeye that had a PPP on it.
Back in the day when they wernt fitting uprated fuel pumps and mapping was still quite fresh.
Short engine then under warranty.
I thought these issues were long gone by now!!
Not good really.
We`ll see.
