ive got a mate with a 306 gti6 which i have driven, although it is pretty quick but not a touch on my scooby. anyway no matter what people say scooby's are the best they have got the looks, power and a great exhaust sound which is purely unbeatable.

But this guys car is tuned to the hilt. If those figures are even nearly true he'd wipe the floor with a standard or mildly tuned Impreza, or nearly any other marque to be honest.
Tell you all what. I'll go and race tune an Impreza and then go and race a slower Ford Ka, what's the difference? What's the point?
Its dumb as ****..

i had a midly tuned 306 gti-6 and it wouldn't touch my nearly standard scoob. what i thinks funny is that they can beat us round the twisties easily, eeerrrmmm no i couldn't get mine round the corners very easy as it understeered really bad.
gotta love it though, how many engines has he been through with the french build quality.

Its an amazing thread.. First page is ..
My 6 will destroy anything Japanese..
Changes too Well some of the ones that arent done properly..
Then .. Subaru Engines are hugely unreliable...
Changes then too.. Well it would have a Sport or a standard Turbo...
Then too .. Well I own both and my WRX is way quicker ....
Then someone fights back.. we will have Scoobs in the Twisties....
Then onto.. Well P1's and Type R destroy the French...
Then well.. STI's are pretty great!!
Hahah
NIPPON!!! :P

I love the fact that they presume all Subaru's to be unreliable. Mine is running 303bhp / 290 ft/lbs and is on 115,000 miles and is 15 years old. Sure the gearbox is getting notchy and I don't expect the engine to go on forever but I'm sure it will see off most of those french tin cans. Sure the one running 400 bhp + will beat many of us, but that is a one off.
As for the 106's, it doesn't matter how much money you throw at it, it will always look like you have borrowed your mums car

Haven't read the thread but I can imagine whats on it going by responces on here
Never driven a 306 GTi-6 but can sadly confirm my 205 GTi is a much better handling car than my 9suspension modded) previous Scoob I hate saying that, and I hate saying a good driver in the 205 would have had my Scoob in the twisties
But yeah, they look and sound the bollocks, thats why I want another one

When money allows yes mate. Thing is it's "only" a Peugeot but the 205 is soo much fun to drive. Admittedly more has gone wrong with it than the Scoob, but the engine is so solid on 148k, it feels tight and brilliant. They're just 2 totally different cars to drive, and I'm suprised a GTi-6 can keep with even a standard Scoob in fairness
The 205 does 0-60 in 7.8 seconds I think, so off the line it's no match for a Scoob (which I miss) but once in the twisties, I can really throw it in and control any oversteer. I was always worried about the Scoobs AWD ******* me up
But yeah, ideally a 205 with a Scoob engine

Why's he taking the p$ss out of the scoob's 'bean can exhaust' - he's got a spaghetti hoops can sticking out the back of his heap!
