Smile Low annual mileage driver - does this affect the engine I pick?

I have recently changed life style, and only drive about 5000 miles pa.

I still enjoy driving (!) but wonder if the low mileage should direct me to:
a) a normally aspirated petrol turbo engine
b) a turbo petrol engine
or
c) a diesel engine.

Thoughts please
Graham

You choose, it depends on use really !

Mine is a three day commuter, weekend toy, & track tool.

So STI.

Doesn't matter how many miles you do - pick what ticks the boxes for you

As long as the car gets to its optimum temperature on the journeys that you do you shouldnt have any problems if you do 2 mile journeys then I would get the bus or buy a bicycle (or even better, walk )

IMHO It doesn't matter what type of engine you have or the fuel type as long as you maintain it well, and if you do lots of short journeys you take it out for a decent long run every now and then.

I do around the same mileage as you, I make sure I give it a run out if its been sat in the garage for a week. As it is generally a weekend toy and an occational commute
