Default Prodrive Springs now fitted !!!!!!

Following up my thread re Prodrive springs, All fitted now and all I can say is wow, This is how the car should have come out of the factory. The car sits a little lower but does not look like its been slammed just right for me. as soon as I drove out of the garage and down the road I could feel the difference It seems to absorb the bumps better, not as much bumping and crashing. I also had a laser alignment and fast road setup first impressions are good with the steering very solid and responsive, when tipping it into the corner it now just seems to turn in smoothly with out any effort. Unfortunately the white line ARB did not get delivered so I can not comment on this yet ( hopefully next week now) Only bad thing was I had to fork out £200 for a new rear shock as there was to much movement in the shaft and it was causing a knock but its nice and quiet now. I have not pushed the car hard yet to see if the handling has improved because of the weather but will be interesting when the ARB is fitted to notice the difference again. I will re post when this has been done

That's true. You forget how good you have made it. I need to test drive a standard car to remind me every now and then I think as I'm still in two minds about keeping mine

I definitely look at the ALK next. That did make a big difference too. Well worth it for £120!!

Might leave it a little while before I do any thing else, I want to get used to what I have now and then maybe look at a ALK , I still have the ARB to go on next week so that should be cool. what difference did you feel with the ALK fitted? was there any negative effects other than having to have the geometry done again (not cheap is it),

MIKKEL , i offten think about changing my 06 sti as well but to be honest i would not know what to buy, i even test drove a porsche carrera 2 the other week and to be honest there was just no way that it was worth parting with the £ 20,000 of my hard earnt savings to buy it, the difference was not big enough and no way worth the money.

Well, i had the rear ARB, ALK and Geom all done at the same time down at powerstation.

The drive back was great. The pitch and dive from the car was reduced with the ALK. Overall the car felt awesome. When accelerating the car just went, rather than lifting and going. All 3 made for a positive drive experience and the corners just didn't seem to exist.

EDIT: No negative effects at all.

Why not wait a couple of years and then consider the new Skyline

Cheers for the feed back Gaz sounds like a good bit of kit. When I get bored of my new setup i think I will go with the ALK to liven things up

I already have a Bandit 600S, which acts as my daily ride. Fancy something bigger to replace the Impreza as a weekend toy.
