Induction Kit - Yay Or Nay!

Induction Kit - Yay Or Nay!
Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum mularkey but was looking for some advice on induction kits, more specifically the HKS Super Power Flow Kit.
I have a 2005 STI and was looking to upgrade to this kit but I am led to believe upgrading the panel filter, adding a premium suction kit and leaving the original airbox in place can be just as beneficial as the gains are marginal.
Is this the case?? What do you think??!

The original airbox with a good panel filter will see you right for 350bhp+. Get a green filter or a K&N and go light on the oil. It is only worth going for an induction kit when you start going for big power or a FMIC.
You could always remove the in-wing resonator and replace it with some cold air ducting, but it is a big job given how little it will improve the flow.

I believe induction kits make your car run lean, get some proper, qualified advice before fitting one or you'll end up with a popped engine.

Panel filter all day long mate, induction kit is a pointless exercise unless you have a real reason for it i.e. FMIC, running over 400bhp etc
All an induction kit will result in over a panel filter is loud noise, inconvinience to kit and the requirement for a remap...... Ohh and a higher possibiitly of a broken MAF

If anything an engine bay induction kit will cost you power. As said a good panel filter is the best option til you have maxxed out the standard turbo.
Best option for more power is a good free flowing exhaust (decat or sports cat) and remap - this will see you comfortably over 300 bhp and transform the car.

Nice one guys,
I had a Blitz induction kit on my Nissan S15 along with a front mounted intercooler and did begin to encounter problems with the engine running a little lean, I did not know they were such a problem for MAF's.
Panel filter and suction kit is the way forward I think!

I am a fiend for branding and a slave to HKS!
I know that their kit includes a polished HKS alloy air intake pipe, Samco silicone hoses/hose clips, HKS Intercooler silicone hose pipe coupled with a HKS Super Hybrid Panel Filter.
