Its a tough one. On the one hand its had £7K worth of work already. On the other hand he's run out of money/interest and jsut wants rid.
You are still buying an unfinished car effectively. IMO plenty of other P1s with complete rebuilds around. So no, I probably wouldn't buy that particular one.

In mY opinion NO not worth the money, the p1 is a very nice car, they are well sort after and it has had a rebuild with top quality parts (as long as it has been done by a proper comapny such as api, clinic etc)and i would not worry too much about mapping as the lisence would of already been paid so you are talking £150 plus vat to do a final map. what does put me off is the gearbox and brakes have not been done, which a 6 speed supplied and fitted will cost £3-£3.5k and a decent set of front brakes such as AP are £2k fitted so plus the £5k there and another £2k for a big turbo and injectors o run the thing as well as a fmic induction kit and that brings at a guess around £7k to get it to run the 500bhp the engine has ben built for. so ok for someone who wants a project P1 as it is a great starting point and the half the cost has been taken by the current owner. or do what i did and buy one with it all done (not a p1 though) but still running just shy of 500bhp and it did not cost me 10k either

I'd be very nervous of buying a car that could not be "tested" above 2,500 rpm... god knows what's being hidden from the new owner..... why try to sell it in such an "unready" condition? I'd be very very suspicious... "moving house" story or not

Easy answer to that one, get in touch with the company that did the rebuild and confirm what work they did and what warranty applies to it. They should be able to offer at least some opinion as to the general condition of the car too.

Just do your homework. It could be genuine. If his story checks out and the engine builder is good then I'd have a punt.
With regards to brakes gearbox etc. Just because the engine could handle 500bhp (allegedly) doesn't mean you have to map it to run that high.

For 15k i may invest in one
As for the P1,11k to buy it plus £400ish for a remap then it needs 4 new tyres. Also if you want the big power a new turbo and injectors and maybe a FMIC (cant see from the pics) is needed aswell.
Id say nearer 8.5k-9.5k is closer to the price.

The FMIC is there and piped in as far as I can tell
edited to add: Hang on... no pic of under bonnet any more...was it there before? I'm sure I rememebr seeing one
Taken from DR motorsport website, so no, no FMIC
"This is one of our customer's P1 which we are doing a full Cosworth engine rebuild, including all bearings, pistons, oil pump, head gaskets, ARP head stud kit, iridium spark plugs, uprated coil and leads, uprated fuel pump, running a 5 plate paddle clutch, a straight through exhaust system. Once engine has been bed in we will be adding larger injectors, front mount intercooler, larger turbo, then will be remapping ECU with our ECUTEK program to produce around 500 bhp with full reliability."

It may be technically 'worth' the money given what has supposedly been done, however is it worth a punt for that money? No chance in my opinion.
There are too many areas for concern - namely the 2500rpm limit and the fact it is not proven in any way. Someone who has spent that sort of cash would put forth a more convincing sales pitch than that and also have abetter idea of EXACTLY what had been done and by whom.
Little feedback, no contact number, dodgy pics..... smells funny to me.

I don't understand the 2.5K RPM limit for running it in. I've just finshed running mine in and david told me you need to get some heat in the engine/piston rings to run it in. Just pottering around is not going to do it.

I may be a bit picky - but adverts tell me loads about a seller - and alarm bells go off when I read this one.
The seller cannot spell BEEN ..... keeps writing BIN ...... do I want to buy such a car off a numptie? No, I didn't think so!
Also, this just contradicts itself:-
"cars at this spec iv seen have been selling for 14k-15k all day long so what im asking is a great price.
offers very welcome"
Number 1 - sell it for £14k then!
Number 2 - if you are asking a great price it will sell .... why say offers invited?
Nah, the whole thing has more holes than a Swiss Cheese.
Walk ..... er, no, ...... run away!!
Just my opinion.
