Blob STI v Hawk WRX 1/4 mile race
Well after a bit of friendly banter from my brothers mate about how wonderful is 05 STI PPP we decided to have a 1/4 mile race (on private property) against my 2.5 WRX (Remapped by JGM). I knew he had more bhp about 20 but mine is lighter and a lot more torque 350lbs/ft to his 300.
Have to say it was pretty close but
after 3 goes he gave up...
Thanks JGM

just gose to show how crap the ppp map is, compared to a tailored remap thats suited to the car.

Think yourself lucky it wasnt a standard JDM blob or the result would have been very different

What if he had the Blob custom mapped too? Then it would be a like for like race.
Surely the UK STI Blob has the potential to make very good Torque and BHP too when custom mapped?

Yes the STI blob could make an aditional 20-30 more (both bhp & torque), but he didn't... it was a PPP generic map... hense the comments...

Is the Hawkeye lighter than a blobeye? I thought it was the other way around to be honest.

Thinks he's referring to the fact that the WRX is lighter than the STI

Or even a standard Classic STi.

So how is the WRX lighter than the STi - the gear box or something? Again I would have thought the STi would be lighter.

The WRX is a bit lighter as one of the guys said its 75kg roughly the weight of an extra passenger!! Prob the six speed box, extra diff and all those pink sti badges make it heavier
