Antilag on a road car will gain only a tiny bit on applying the throttle again on a gear change for example.
This is fairly effective on newage cars as the idle stepper motor flows a reasonable amount of air.
Also you get pops, bangs and flames from the exhaust which is what most people want it for.
You said in the other thread you wanted a remap and antilag which therefore means an after market ecu on your car (simtek or solaris for example). However if it is just the noise you want then it is easy to get pops and bangs on overrun when remapping the standard ecu.
Depends on your budget and future plans and what you want.
I just answered your question as best I could with the little info you gave.

No, but you can the similar sound and effect, but without the damage. It wont be switchable, so it's on all the time. Will be too much for most people.

depending on year of car and model it can be done and switchable noise on overrun on the standard ecu with an EcuTek remap.

Otherwise you are looking at a simtek or solaris ecu with switchable antilag.

when used antisocially yes agreed.. but when used on a country road when having a blast the difference on the gearchange pick up is noticable.. must film the boost gauge on mine to demonstrate.

Dear Mr Jolly Green Monster,

I have a PPP on my 08 STI, I really like the idea of the Litchfield cold air induction kit. Can you re-map the PPP ECU to take advantage of this, or would I need a new ECU?

Also, while I've hopefully got your attention, would it be possible to have different Maps on each of the SI drive settings, for instance "I" for 95 Octane when you can't find the good stuff, "S" for more mid range less top end (like a WRX), and "S Sharp" for woah mumma the full monty?

I know it is a cake and eat it kind of question, but.........

Yes.. standard ecu is mappable, ppp is only a different map in the standard ecu, so no issue.

Yes.. although it may take more than one meeting to sort it as ideally it needs 95ron in the tank and 99ron in the tank to be able to set it up.. it will take a little bit of playing around but yes no problem.

Drop me a PM if you want to discuss further etc

Thanks
Simon

Hi Simon,

can the whole "popping and banging" cause long term damage? Does the exhaust need to be de-catted?

plus, can the "s mode" on the 2008+STI be programmed for maximum performance (like s#), with the s# mode giving same performance but added antilag.

never seen damage caused and as always ran it on my own car for 1000s of miles with no issue.

will usually pop less with cats.

It's not sad, it's what i always wanted too. Mine is not switchable. Had it for over 2 years and never tire of it

No damage that I have seen from this mild form of anti lag - proper full on ALS can be very harsh on headers and turbo though.

Yes - the individual switch settings can be mapped separately. Fueling and ignition as well as the normal boost and throttle responsiveness.
