Default How long should a repair last?

How long should a bodywork repair last? I bought my car 2.5 years ago from one of the biggest most respected subaru speicialist in the country. It had just undergone an engine rebuild (which is spot on BTW) and a rear end respray (they werent happy with the paintwork) Now both back arches are dropping out and there is a number of small bubbles under the paint.

Is it unreasonable to expect it to of lasted longer

When you think that many manufacturers provide a anti-corrosion bodywork guarantee of up to 10 years no way should it be going wrong already. However, unless you have a receipt for the work done you might be in for a hard slog if you want the seller to sort it now...

Totally unacceptable, take it back and get them to rectify the problem. If they wont play ball, tell'em there credibility will be in question on this site and you'll seek legal advice

Keep us posted on your progress

TBH I'm not going to waste my time. The car is long out of warranty and I don't have a receipt for the work they did. I do know though that the paint which is fooked was sprayed on by them. I guess any repair is never going to be as good as new, for it to last 2 years is taking the p1ss though.

Do you have the original bill of sale?, this would prove the purchase of the vehicle and date the repaor work, worth trying

Have you tried contacting the salesman who you purchased the vehicle from?, he would remember the car and the work carried out.

DONT GIVE UP!!!, some of these main dealers and specialists get away with murder. I used to work for a premium brand main dealer and you wouldnt believe the stunts they pulled
