My MY98 is going in for a 60000 mile service tomorrow but forgot to ask how much it would be as its the first service since I owned the car. Does anyone know how much it will be and any comments on the quality of work and service at Eaglesham garage in glasgow.

Had my MY98 serviced there in January for the first time. No problems with them. They even tightened the handbrake without me mentioning that it needed this. I think they also washed the car. They were due to replace a piston yesterday (for piston slap) but they had to cancel due the bad weather - hardly their fault I suppose.
Dealers read this so be careful what you post.

Sorry should have been 6000 mile service. the car got the big 30000 mile service when I got it, so I think this one only involves an oil change and levels check. I will phone them once I get off line to check it is still on due to the whether.

I don't know the exact cost, as my car isn't there yet, but unfortunatley (for you) the 60K mile service is a pretty major one. It should include:
Oil Filter
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Sump Plug Washer
Spark Plugs
5 litre Coolant Fluid
1 litre Rear Differential Oil
3.5 litre Gear Oil
2 litre Brake Fluid
5 litre fully synthetic Engine Oil
3.5 hours labour

I'm slightly confused. Scooby service intervals are 7500 miles (or 6 months) which ever is sooner. I presume you mean 7500 miles. The cost of the service after the big 2 year or 30000 mile service is about £90. They don't change the cambelt until 45000 miles.

Silly me, what made me think it was 6000 miles. Anyway the car had done just over 6800 miles since its last service as I was a bit skint and held of (thakfully I did). Dropped the car of yesterday and got a bright red Clio diesel as a courtesy car. Got home (about13 miles away) and realised I still had the Scooby keys on me (heads up my ****) had to go back with the keys driving Noddys car. I went in this morning and guess what? yip piston slap, thankfully it's covered under warranty so it aint that bad. The service was £91.00 and that included three bulbs. The car was not clean but I was early and the guy came out offering to do it. I was thinking about asking to test drive the WRX but had a look round it and decided I was happy with the MY98, maybe in a few years when they improve it.
