Default misfiring ?? coilpacks ??

hi guys
just wanting a bit of help under acceleration my car is misfireing a bit,

so i ran the engine and disconnected the maf and it revved really weird then i plugged it back in and run well again so dont think its maf sensor

so i checked the coilpacks and it looks like 1 has been siloconed over and a couple of others are slightly split at the end under the rubber

another of my mates said change the spark plugs this might be it ?

what do you think

thanks
alex

what do you think? well i think if you have had a look at your coil packs and one has been silicone over i would say its that, take them out, take the rubber boots and have a look for cracks even the smallest will cause a misfire on boost.

if they are cracked thats where your problem is, is it worth replacing them? yes, preferably with a new set or good used set without any cracks even hair line ones.

it will definaterly be affecting your performance if they have any cracks mate but if your replacing em you might as well stick some new plugs in while your at it for the sake of 30quid.

you answered your own question earlier by saying that you have already identified cracked coil packs! while you have the coil packs out change the plugs as a matter of course.
