Clutch advice/recomendations.
Can anyone recomend a clutch kit for my 2006 wrx 2.5, its running around 400/400, the o,e clutch was ok for a bit but would slip if abused, after speaking to a respected tuner who told me the o,e preasure plate would be up to the job but the friction plate material would'nt i upgraded to an Ap racing friction plate, within no time maybe a hundred or so miles later it was obvious this set up was no improvment and maybe a step back from the o,e, the cars not a daily driver its a summer weekend toy so day to day living with the clutch isnt a big issue, so any advice or recomendations would be apreciated

The APi uprated Exedy is very much work on progress. That clutch is a press clutch and as yet the market has not caught up with the 'latest' Subaru clutch version.
l do have an upgraded one for your car and Addison and another guy - Ken ??? in Northern Ireland have them, with so far; good results.
But I'd have thought that the AP Racing friction disc would be up to the job. Maybe just the pressure cover spring is weaker than my Exedy one and regardless of the strength of the friction plate it isn't actually clamping hard enough. It is possible too that after only 100 miles that the new AP disc isn't properly bedded in yet and that it will settle, if you haven't glazed it............
Certainly Addy is happy enough with his and l have heard nothing bad from NI, so l guess we may be on the right tack.
Call me Monday 401, if you wish and we can talk it through.
Neither Helix, nor AP Racing make a pressure cover for that version yet.
