Hi All, Newbie after an Impreza !
Hi All, couldnt find a newbie section for the customary, "Hi just joined I'm cluless and will be asking loads of questions I could have found If i had bothered to search"
anyway, I'm looking at Impreza's so thought I should join up and find out as much as possible about them, I'm a member of various car forums and have found them invaluable in the past, currently I have a mk4 GTI Turbo Golf
very nice mk4 Golf GTI Turbo in black which I'm sort of selling/hoping to trade/part ex
and after a Impreza for about 3k which after various nosing about would appear to secure me a tidy 98ish turbo ???
any advice/pointers appreciated
Cheers Glyn

I havent, but I'm an old git and past cars have included a Lotus, porsche's and a few cosworths amongst others so cant see it being a problem
I should have just got the Impreza instead of the Golf but I was swayed by the 35mpg of the Golf, but I gave up smoking a couple of months ago and I'm using "Man Logic" to reward myself by getting something rubbish on petrol again

still looking around............
I see what you mean about insurance though, got a quote yesterday and they want £500 which I thought was a bit pricey for an old car, but it's not the end of the world
so anyone seen any nice classics for sale, spending most of my spare time on PH, ebay, and autotrader

I'm a newby too yet to become a premium member as all the pennies are going toward my first scoob!
Im 22 with a ban on my license. Am looking for an 02 sti prodrive. Blue or black. Been quoted £1085 by adrian flux fully comp for the prodrive version! thats when i turn 23 on the 19/3
tip - gocompare with the tracker added.
Can anyone give me a good idea between the prodrive and 'prodrive style edition' spec differences??? other than the 285Bhp up to 305Bhp

Hi all, newbie after an impreza (edited - got one !!)
thanks for all the reply's
well I'm officially in the club now, ended up with an 01 Bug WRX wagon with ppp from new, which wasnt what I was initially looking for but I have had a few fast estates and do really like the annominity of them, and although initially I wouldnt have considered a bug the looks are growing on me and it was a bargain I couldnt say no to
I'm already shopping for wheels
edit - just joined up as well

my wagon, with pics
finally took some pics
I bought it out of ebay advert here
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
pics as purchased
unforunatley I havent been able to leave it alone, in the 3 weeks I have had it I have -
fitted new steering wheel, gear **** and silver part of dash
bought fog covers and had them painted with the bonnet scoop
fitted boost gauge and pod, done oil and filter
got it up in the air, steam cleaned the underneath, wheel arch's and engine bay, reundersealed arch's and fitted genuine mudflaps,
overhauled and rebuilt all callipers and refiited with new grooved discs and mintex pads
purchased technomagnesio detrioit F1's, made custom centre caps and fitted with new Toyo prox's
fiitted new number plates
and removed lights and sent to Darren (brockalightus) who done a cracking job for me making them a bit less in yer face, massive thanks to him for helping me out
just spent 2 days, claying, cutting, polishing and waxing the paintwork to get it back to bufty
(it was a lease car first part of it's life and looked like it had a weekly visit to the scratchy carwash )
pics as of this afternoon
so there you go, chuffed to bits with it now, and it's how I imagined I wanted it hopefully I'll stop fiddling now
Cheers Glyn

Nice motor fella, youve been a busy lad you done more on yours in the short time that youve had it than i have in mine in to years hahaha.
Just about to whi the heads off mine as the gasket went and blew the heater matrix, so i had to change that first before i pulled the heads off.
Looking good fella and welcome to the world of the empty wallet brigade hahaha.
