Is it wrong for me to badge my wrx up as an sti?
... even though it is faster than a standard sti at 335bhp/340lbs and many of the parts are actually off an Sti.
Well I collected my red 55 plate WRX this evening and am very pleased with it It's very, very quick car
It has been remapped with the following supporting mods
Afterburner backbox, center pipe and decat downpipe
Hks dumpvalve
k&n panel filter
VF35
Walbro fuel pump
Sti topmount
Sti pink injectors
it also had fitted genuine sti parts
gold brembos
full sti interior including seats doorcards steering wheel and prodrive gear ****
v8 spoiler
winglets
foglamp covers
The previous ownder has added an sti badge on the boot, and one in the grill, sti stickers on the mudflaps, sti stickers on the foglamp covers and the front doors as you do on the real thing.
Now I may take the one on the boot and mudflaps off but thinking to keep the stickers on the foglamp and doors as I feel it looks a bit plain without the stickers.
But is it wrong for me to badge a wrx up like this?
I've never been a fan of badging a car up as something it isn't but in this case, doesn't seem a complete lie, as it does have Sti bits and has the go too
What are your thoughts on this?
Will post some pics after I get it washed either tommorow or Sunday.

Up to you, but I personally wouldn't. After all the work and money you might want to show off what it has achieved, but I'd be more inclined to get some graphics made up which tell of its potential, but don't lie as to its true identity.

Mine has a single STi badge on rear end despite being a lowly UKT ... it's running quite a bit more power than a STi mind

Oh for gods sake, be proud of your car for what it is !
And bo11ocks is it quicker than an STI, mine has almost 400 bhp, so
Seriously though it is your car, and your choice.
I'd de-badge if I could be bothered....
dunx

You could badge it as a WRX 335, similar to the Evo's. I had mine done at Greenwood Racing Developments so badged it as a GRD 330.
I like the badging personally, but it is a 50/50 choice.

I badged up a civic as something it wasn't - regretted it ever since. You wanted the WRX, badge it as one!
I like the idea of badging it up as a 335, but it's up to you how 'stealth' you want to keep it.
Theres always going to be the awkward conversation of 'its not actually an sti' if you badge it as one.

badging it as something it clearly isnt is ridiculous and wannabe IMO its as bad as these morons who put turbo bonnets on sports
If you want an STi buy one,you will only make yourself look a complete tit otherwise

A sti is a sti and a wrx is a wrx at the end of the day , not knocking yours mate because I've seen a few nice wrx's around especially a red one with nice red bull graphics on it looks really smart perhaps you should do something like that

I've got this Skoda Fabia, a lot of the parts are VW, should I badge it up as Golf??
