Yeovilton Air Day 2010
I know its early days at the moment but just thought i would guage interest early.
As a previous MR2 Turbo owner and working at the airstation i have organised a group meet there for the last six years like this
MR2 Owners Club - View topic - Yeovilton Air Show 2007
although the weather hasnt been kind the last few years its a great day and a great chance to meet fellow owners and show off your pride and joy to the public. In 2007 there were approx 50k visitors.
As an exhibitor you can get your car and yourself in for £14 (havent got prices for this year yet) and you get to park in the military vehicles and classic/sports car section right on the airfield.
The most i have had turn up is 13 and it made for an impressive line up, especially compared to the 3 cosworth owners that were also there. The guys in the old MR2 club used to book the campsite which is 2 miles down the road and do good prices.
Its a great day out and i normally take people round the aircraft i have or into the hangar to show them around.
Have a look, as its early days yet the lists are still being added to
RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2010 : RNAS Yeovilton : Naval Bases & Air Stations : Establishments : Operations and Support : Royal Navy
Also a call to arms for any other WAFUs on here to get yourself there if you are based at VL its a day off instead of selling programmes, emptying bins etc lol
As i say, just throwing it out there, be good to beat 13

Dave i havent worked air day for 6 years because i am the organiser for the meet :-) i am sure i could use an assistant, who is your line manager i will speak to them. Its all official through AHA events.
Great to hear you are coming Duncan with you leading up the pack i think we should get even more people coming, want me to target people that havent had a remap yet lol
word of advice if you are coming up on the Friday or plan staying the saturday book accomodation early, normally the MR2 lot book the camping field about 2 miles away. Want me to see about jacking up a joint one?

just a reminder that the day is nearly on us plus i had arranged a runway dash with Duncan Graham of Dynamix to race a Lynx down the runway during the lunch break, sadly after being agreed in principle it was binned due to issues of debris on the track (sad excuse i know) despite this Duncan is still coming along with his 600hp race scooby so come along and have a great day meeting fellow owners with a full flying display as the backdrop, all the normal trimmings are there as well, fun fair etc, etc. We are also trying to secure the new Wlidcat Lynx to be there as a static http://www.agustawestland.com/product/aw159[/url]

hi all
due to a very short notice ping i am now sat in Athens awaiting a connecting flight to go out somewhere on a ship to do some work, problem is i have no idea when i will be back, i am hoping no longer than a week but better to be safe so i might not be around much before the airday on here to organise things etc so hopefully if Dave Beck reads this he will take the reigns and answer any questions you may have, see you when i get back
