Default What is AVCS?

Was reading somewhere that some of the newer Imprezas came with AVCS, which models were these and what were the benefits of such system?

It alters cam timing and overlap as far as I know. Someone else will be able to clarify exactly how it works and what models have it. Either that or google it, I bet there's loads of info already on AVCS.

Active valve control system, similar/same as variable valve control, gives better low down power etc.

Found on newage STis (inlet cam only) up to 2007 then on both WRX and STi hatchbacks from 2008 on both inlet and exhaust cams.
