I phoned my local dealer to enquire about lead times on a white WRX STI Type UK as Im ready to order only to be told there are none in the country and SUbaru UK will not be ordering any either because of the exchange rate!!
He then went on to say they may get me one in as a special order but I'd have to pay an extra 30% on the list price!
Madness....

The dealer mentioned Daihatsu may stop importing altogether until the currency comes back to a better rate.

Dont know if this helps but try subaru uk website still a few with delivery miles. They claim you can buy them through any dealer. Wonder if the second hand prices of the hatch will hold up better?

I was privy to a very similar conversation in my local dealership between a prospective Daihatsu buyer and the salesman... sorry haven't got any...don't know of any for sale Nationally ... do not know when we will next get one...all due to the strong Yen.. very helpful!

Hey Pete, given the nature of your original ban, what undertakings, if any, did you give to the new management to get your peerage, oops, original username back? Are you now fully domiciled within the UK for tax purposes, or did you just have to promise to be a good boy from this point forward? ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Hmmmm. One can't help but wonder how Suzuki can continue to import if the relative strength of the yen is causing IM so many problems breaking even. Is your missus' Swift made in Japan or elswhere BD?
Incidentally some who've posted on this thread might be interested in this quote, circa 1995:

Gave up on a white one and went for a WR Blue one instead.
Several dealers pointed out to me the current YEN exchange rate has made things very difficult hence not bringing in STI's right now
