Default Ecutek license query

My friend picked up an 06 hawkeye sti this week. Its been mapped using Ecutek by Andy Forrest and has pops and bangs as part of the map on the overun. He wants the pops and bangs removed and is unsure if any Ecutek mapper could do it or only Andy Forrest due to the license. I said i was'nt sure and i'd ask on here so can anyone confirm ?

ANy Ecutek mapper should be able to sort that but it may cost around the £200+ mark. Get in touch with Andy F, JGM or any of the respected mappers on here to get an idea of cost.

Any ecutek mapper can remap it and the licence will be clearly visable to the mapper etc..

however only Andy F will have the current map.. if the owner just wants the pops and bangs taken off, it would be cheapest to contact Andy and get him to reload the map with them turned off..

Another ecutek mapper will have to remap it from scratch as you cannot read the current map, and therefore likely to cost more than going back to Andy.

Thanks for the quick reply, going to Andy is a problem as he's over 325 miles away. Would it be possible for him to send just the e.c.u to Andy to remove them or would he need the whole car ?

As JGM put at a 650 mile round trip it would probably be cheaper than a re-map. Not sure if Andy does travel if so you could catch him closer to you if he is doing a few days mapping somwhere. I used to travel a 900 mile round trip to get my GEMS mapped or for a yearly check over.

900 mile round trip, that is some crazy sheet ! Can any of you mapper types confirm whether it's possible for my friend just to send the e.c.u ?

I'm doing an 800 mile round trip for a re-map

Well worth it IMHO,

If you get the right mapper

When I went for my first map Andy was so busy I'd of had to have waited for months. Tomorrow will be my third remap in the past year and as im very happy with my mapper I'll stick to using him.
