Registering an import??
Hi all, recently i decided to put my track car on the road its a 2000 wrx. Now i have heard that its 10 years old so no sva is required??
However while at the dvla getting the v55 he said i need to get it insured, mot'd, then apply for the registration. Is he right?? Is this the correct order for doing things??
Also the documents that i have are; A receipt for the car from the garage who imported it, The certificate of cancelled registration english and japanese, and a piece of paper from hm customs C&E389 is that all i need??
So many questions please help!!!!!!

you do need it insured and mot to get it registered, now this can prove hard if you dont have a trade insurance but maybe keith micheals brokers can help i had this problem so i got my mate who was a trader to get it registered and then sign it straigh over to me but mine need an sva as it was under ten years old when i got this from the docks but once you have got it insured and mot on it then take to your nearsest dvla place and then they will sort you out a reg but that can take a few weeks oh and make sure your ten years is up i.e whne was it reg in 2000

You should be able to get it insured in your name on the chasis number - no need for a Trader's insurance.
You just need to contact the insurer to give them the car's reg number when the documents come back from the DVLA.
Did this with my WRX 10 years ago, and I don't see why things should have changed since then.
