Hi Gav! Welcome,
Firstly, which model you after? Classic, bug eye, blob eye, hawk eye? STI, WRX, Type ra?
Or you totally undecided as yet?
With any subaru, check the turbo for signs of oil loss, full service history is a good thing trust me! check the clutch for bite and pedal height upon release.
Check for oil leaks on the rear diff, and any cam cover gasket leaks.
The biggest check would be make sure the engine sounds nice and quiet from a COLD START. Worn bearings are not unheard of mate!
Others will be on with more info i'm sure.
Regards
Matt
