Default CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

Hi all

Had the old check engine light come on this morning while giving it beans because some BMW guy was up my backside. It happened high end revs in fourth gear started by flashing then stayed on if i kept my foot down. Soon as i took foot off it went. Is this something i should worry about ?? it has happened before on my old scooby but turned out to be a sensor. Due to the car being tuned i assume this is quite common thing?

Cheers

Model/year would be helpful plus any modifications/aftermarket ecu etc.

My 98sti check light is used as my knock sensor through the simtek. I dont know wat the newage ecus are capable of. If its possible to map the check light in as the knock sensor. a mapper will be able to tell you.

As above it would help to know the model/year and what ecu is fitted..

I dont know much about the apexi, but someone will be able to tell you if the check light can be used for the knock. I take it you run it on v-power or tesco 99. Have you joined the black plugs under the dash to see if there is any faults logged, I dont know if this still works as you have apexi fitted, but someone will be able to tell you..

normally run it on vpower or tescos but had to put in about £25 BP Ultimate due to being low. No have not tried that, where do the faults log?

A standard car has two plugs to join under the steering wheel then the error code read off the check engine light flashing ...
