Theft deterrent, any comparison

Be interested to know if there has been any comparisone between the different types of deterrent, ie steering wheel locks ect. what works well, what isnt worth the money. Something for the Magazine perhaps.
As an example the Old Krooklock could be knocked off the handbrake and the car still be driven
