yes or no? is it worth it?
i have just brought a 2004 sti ppp and want to start a few minor mods, i have already got sports cat and backbox fitted(prodrive) and some new drilled grooved discs.
I have always joined forums for the various cars i have owned because of the invaluable advice, so heres the question i am thinking of buying a hks super bov i know all they do is make a noise and offer no performance benefiit.
but on searching threads in the forum there is differing opinion on dump valves so will it damage/upset running of my car or not?

Welcome .... did you buy the car to impress the teenagers at MacDonalds on a Friday night?
If you didn't then ignore the chavvie, kiddie, pathetic, dump valve ........ in fact keep it standard and enjoy rock solid reliability and rock solid resale values.

or if you want one get one ! and keep the standard one to re-fit when you want to sell, thats what ive done, this is an age old debate and as far as i can see its 50/50 if you like them you get one pal !
if you wanted a car for resale value you should have bought a vw golf

your choice mate to be honnest, if you like the sound then go for it, there is no performance to be had out of them though. at leaset your going for the dearer end of the scale rather than the cheaper ebay jobbies or bailey..
but having said the above, be warned that they can cause issues such as irratic idle, flat spots, poor fuel consumption... but not on every car so you may get lucky.

Spend the bucks and get a good dual-port one if you need to buy one. Adjust the setting to suit.
I run mine on 'hard' which is pretty much all re-circ but when on full-boost get some atmosphere sound too.
