Default what can i get for my bugeye

Hi guys and girls i'm now about to have an engine rebuild on my prodrive 51reg bugeye sti done by API engines. the problem is once i get the cra back i don't really have the need for it any more as i now drive from norwich to cambridge 5-6 days a week as i got offered a better job there but i now have a diesel as i need the mpg.

so the question is how much can i get for the car as i had a gearbox rebuild last year and now a full engine rebuild by one of the best rebuild company's.

the spec is full subaru history, cam belt change, has covered 48k miles. built in kenwood dvd player, defi gauges and defi box, turbo timer, full de cat exhust, lowered on coilovers, roger clark induction kit, gen P1 wheels, sti strut brace.

So all in all how much should i be able to get for this or should i not have hte rebuild done and strip the car of all parts as everything is great condtion apart from the engine.

I have until next tuesday to say yes for the rebuild or just take the car back and strip it for parts. what one will make me the most money.

Thanks in advance for comments.

Hard to say until we see pics/condition etc.

My first guess would be somewhere around the 7.5k mark. You won't recoup the losses of those rebuilds and many of your modifications, just the nature of the market.

the mods im not bortherd about as they came with the car when i bought it but as i'm going for a rebuild i didn't know if people would then see the car as a much safer car to buy as it's almost new again e.g with a rebuilt gear box and engeine rebuild. i will upload some photos now.

Your joking aint ya? 7.5k?!
There was an MY05 PPP car just sold for 8200 with 50k on the clock fsh etc.

OP, 6-6.5k for a good conditioned MY02 (though god knows why yours is on an MY01 plate, can only suspect you have the "test" car that the journo's used before the official 02/52 cars came in back in april 02).

It's a 51 plate, mine was delivered 01/02/2002, but I left it in the showroom at the dealers request till 01/03/2002 for an 02 plate.

I don't see why you wouldn't get 7K for this car, there are plenty around with a lesser spec and more miles for more money.

If you get it on Pistonheads and the trader you will get what you are asking mate!

in the original post you say you had the gearbox rebuilt being a very strong 6 speed & now the sti lump gone also this car must have been driven very hard IMO!!
mods worth nothing!!! rebuild unless uprated/forged will drop ££££
on a 51plate its worth 6k tops

How much is your rebuild engine going to cost ! How much is the car standing you just now ! I think, cut your loses and break it, you have a lot of quality parts on this car, and i think you could get Approx £4.0k breaking your car. IMO

A full enigne rebuild at 48K? Yikes that's not good news at all.

If you are selling and you are certain then just cut it loose and avoid the rebuild costs - your losses will be far greater otherwise.
