There have been some early 93 WRXs on here for 5k. There was also an early LHD car that went for 3.5k

I bought a 93 WRX from a dealer last Xmas for £4995 with 50k miles on it with a £300 warranty thrown in. The dealer gave me back another £900 when the clutch went 2 weeks later and it turned out the ECU was faulty (common problem on early WRXs). He even gave me a decent trade in on a 125k mile 94 Golf VR6 so he was a bit of a top bloke (though a little fearful of Scoobs now).

She runs sweet now. Just had the cambelt, oil and filters done at a local garage quite cheaply as a bit more insurance.

Insurance was £690 on it but I had to have a tracker fitted. (Bit extreme on a £5k car!).

I'e also treated it to a private plate (£700) and a 2nd hand set of 17in superlegs (£600) with some good SO2s on.

I'm into cheap fast cars and they dont get much quicker or cheaper than this one!

They are typically auctioned from specialist importers, this is where the trade by them. There is one every two weeks and typically you would not pay more than 4.5k for a low mileage good condition example !!

Sold as seen has put me off so far though, anybody know any more on this ??

What about UK motors, if I did take the plunge a WRX would be too much to insure.
What should I be paying for a UK 95` average miles etc
