power steering cooling pipe thing

Default power steering cooling pipe thing

has anyone else removed the pipe that runs in front of the rad ?
mine was leaking so i removed it
is it really needed ?

I haven't done this myself, but judging from the design of the things I doubt they've got very much cooling power, really.

You could easily enough find another one cheap-ish from someone breaking their car here, or maybe fit a real cooler instead.

it's a standard mod to remove the pipe, they removed it on the later spec scooby as standard as well.

If you're just getting rid of the pipe, you need a 10mm push-fit alloy joiner to bypass the original connectors, maybe a couple of new jubilee clips, and that's it job done.

Are you guys referring to the small (4-5 inches?) u shaped metal cooler at the front left side of the car? I'm thinking of removing this or maybe even fitting a proper cooler as I want to fit some Hellas.

Anyone had any issues or problems after removing it?

mines leaking now and is there any difference with or without the cooling pipes there? if not might just remove it ?

my MY03 WRX doesn't have one yet my dads MY03 STI does? cant be that important and its not really that big compared to whats fitted on our new fords at work.

oh right, ive got a my96 import and just wondering if it would be fine to take it off and loop the pipe round ?

removed leaking cooler 6 months ago, no difference, just loop the pipe round

Hi ya mate I've got a problem with this pipe how do I take it off do you just take the metal pipe and loop them and what a push fit joiner
