paint repair now crazing.........

Default paint repair now crazing.........

minor car park ding repaired about 6 weeks ago, just washed the car and its started to 'craze'. aarrrgh!

looks like its crazing under the lacquer.

will get in touch with the garage after Easter, but any ideas why this is happening??

depends if its water based basecoat or solvent based, normally solvent based wont go crazy after its dried but sometimes does during painting, water based is harder to dry so if its not been 100% dry before lacquered then that could be why, post a pic if you get chance n ill have a look

Yeah it's prob as stated above. We've been trying water based stuff at work and had a lot of crazing problems (non automotive but we've always used the good old hazardous stuff)

Lol ye mee too, cant beat a bit of 2 pak , water based is not nice to use imo, plus ya still have to use 2 pak lacquer on top so cant see the point at all, fekin enviromently friendly my ****
